Pictorescue is the sole owner of the information collected on Pictorescue.com. Pictorescue collects information from its users at several different points on the Pictorescue Site.
In order to use the Pictorescue Site, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information to contact the user about services on our site for which interest has been expressed. It is required that the user creates unique identifiers (such as an email address, a username and a password). This allows us to create an account for the user so that they may use our services.
We request information from the user on our order form. A user must provide contact information (such as name and email) and financial information (such as credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill the customer's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, the information is used to contact the user.
Personal information will be used only for the purposes of creating an account and allowing the user to place and retrieve orders from us. Pictorescue is a service which allows the user to upload digital photos to its website and have them professionally retouched, restored or edited. Upon completion of an order, the edited photos can be downloaded from the website. Photos are considered personal information and will normally only be viewed by individuals involved in editing and quality control except when we are required by law to report depictions of illegal activity. Photos are temporarily archived until we are confident that the work has been completed to the customer's satisfaction.
We store information that we collect through log files, web beacons, and/or third parties to create profiles of its users. A profile is stored information that we keep on an individual user that contains details of their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to the user's personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the site for the user. This profile is used to tailor a user's visit to the Pictorescue Site and to direct pertinent marketing promotions to them. We do not share profiles with third parties.
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies. For the session ID cookie, once the user closes the browser, the cookie terminates.
Cookies are used on our website solely to track account logins. By setting a cookie on our site, users would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If users reject the cookie, they may still use our site.
Like most standard web site servers, we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. We use this data to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.
We use third-party web beacons from Yahoo!, Google Analytics and other similar software, to help analyze where visitors go and what they do while visiting our website. Yahoo! and Google may also use anonymous information about your visits to this and other websites in order to improve its products and services and provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
We send all new members a welcoming email to verify password and username. This email requires no response and provides a link to verify the creation of a user account.
On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. These communications are not promotional in nature.
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account. We reply primarily via email or alternately by phone, if there has been no response to the email.
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on the Pictorescue Site.
Third Party Intermediaries
We use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
Our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-in' of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. For example, our account setup form has an 'opt-in’ mechanism so users who buy a product from us, but don't want any marketing material, can keep their email address off of our marketing lists.
The Pictorescue Site may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that we, Pictorescue, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users, when they leave our site, to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by the Pictorescue Site.
From time-to-time our site collects information from users via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes personal information (such as name, gender and age), and demographic information (such as zip code). Contact information will not be shared. Survey information is used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site. Users' personally identifiable information is not shared with third parties unless we give prior notice and choice. Though we may use an intermediary to conduct these surveys, they may not use users' personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. Pictorescue will automatically send the friend an one-time email inviting them to visit the site. Pictorescue stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. The friend may contact Pictorescue at firstname.lastname@example.org to request the removal of this information from our database.
The Pictorescue Site takes every precaution to protect its users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the Pictorescue Site, their information is protected both online and off-line.
All of our users' information is restricted to our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our users' information is protected. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment, inside a locked cage in a locked facility.
If users have any questions about the security at the Pictorescue Site, they are welcome to send an email to email@example.com.
In order for the Pictorescue Site to properly fulfill its obligation to users, it is necessary for us to supplement the information we receive with information from third party sources.
ID and Address Verification
We may verify a user's identity and address as part of standard credit card processing.
Enhancement of Marketing Profile
We purchase third party marketing data and add it to our existing user database to better target our advertising and provide pertinent offers we think our users would be interested in. We use this information to enhance or overlay the 'profile' of individual users. This aggregate marketing data is therefore tied to the users' personally identifiable information. See also the 'Profile.'
Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information
If a user's personally identifiable information (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address) changes, or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users' personally identifiable information. This can be done at the User Profile page or by emailing our Customer Support at firstname.lastname@example.org .
